Gubmint Cheese

From Michelle Malkin: “If you put enough government cheese in front of people, they are just going to keep eating it.” This covers pretty much every government program that is "helping" people.

Its an outrage that they are going to extend unemployment to 99 weeks. WHAT? Why bother even to try to find a job, even if it is something "below" you, if you get paid to not work? They're taking from those that ARE working, and giving to those who are NOT working. This is more of the government plantation mentality. "I'm entitled to X" is the STUPID thinking of people nowadays. Our parents, grandparents, who lived through the Depression, did not have this mentality. Hard work, and personal sacrifice is what works. Not sitting on your BUTT while someone else pays for you to sit there.

What has happened to the work ethic of the United States? It's gone downhill on roller skates, over a large cliff, a big nosedive. People feel entitled to stuff, I think because their parents worked their butts off to GIVE their kids what they didn't have...and to have those kids grow up to be thankless creatures. Given everything, without any effort on their part, is the ruination of this country.

Its been proven time and time again, if a person is just given something, they are not going to take care of it, or bother about it, as someone who has worked for it. In this situation, I believe the previous boomer generation has failed this generation now. Too many are taking it easy, just sucking off the governmen tit instead of getting off their duffs and working an extra job. Oh no, can't have that! That would take too much effort. Or finding a job, when you can get paid for doing nothing.

Nancy Pelosi is a certifiable idiot. Check out this quote:

“But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy. Furthermore, we believe that health care reform, again I said at the beginning of my remarks, that we sent the three pillars that the President’s economic stabilization and job creation initiatives were education and innovation—innovation begins in the classroom—clean energy and climate, addressing the climate issues in an innovative way to keep us number one and competitive in the world with the new technology, and the third, first among equals I may say, is health care, health insurance reform."

We can't find out what's in it till it's passed? Do they even bother to try to read bills before they pass them now? Rangel has already admitted that he doesnt' bother, because it's too complicated. He just lets his staffers read the bill, and then give him a clue.

I was watching TV one day, and (I forgot what show) had 3 stacks of paper - one was the Senate healthcare bill, one was the House bill, and the small stack of the Constitution. It was amazing to see. I think (if I remember right) the Constitution was all of 28 pages.

The Constitution can be found HERE.

I could take all those "bills" and insulate my damn attic space!!!
I'm ALSO pissed over all that 99 week crap for Unemployment...where is the damn incentive to even LOOK for work?

I was unemployed a very few (and very brief)times...hated every minute of it.

I thought it was BENEATH me, but at least I had to PROVE where I looked for work in order to get my check (which was only about 50% of my last REAL pay)...and ONLY lasted for a mere 24 WEEKS total.

And pelosi's statement made NO freaking sense....pass the bill so we can "show you" what's in it?
    WTF is she smoking, anyway?
    Medical MJ?

"Hey, Pelosi, how aout you TELL us what's in it, so we can DENY it's passage, you dried up old croan?"

Sorry, but such rampant and blatant STUPIDTY by so-called "legislators" makes me wanna upchuck in my shorts.
I can see pitchforks and torches in our future...time to storm the "Bastille"?

    Good post, dear.

  2. With 99 weeks, there is no incentive. Its just more gubmint cheese...and Pelosi doesn't live in the real world. Figure she's the San Francisco area, and that begins to make sense. They aren't in the real world in that place anyway. The times I was unemployed, I didn't like it. Housewife now for over 16 years, and I've gotten used to it - but again, housework SUCKS! Seems like it's all the same thing day after day. I dislike housework, I'd rather go outside and do something. Always did that growing up, traded my inside chores with my sister, and took her outdoor chores.

The rampant idiocy of the current legislators over the years is getting worse and worse. The bills are written by lawyers, so they're "complex" meaning no one can read the darn things and they're not plain in meaning. I don't think they *could* write a straight-forward bill if they took 10 years to do it.
