And you say we're not headed...

down the road to Nazi Germany?

Under the National Operations Center (NOC)’s Media Monitoring Initiative that came out of DHS headquarters in November, Washington has the written permission to retain data on users of social media and online networking platforms.

Specifically, the DHS announced the NCO and its Office of Operations Coordination and Planning (OPS) can collect personal information from news anchors, journalists, reporters or anyone who may use “traditional and/or social media in real time to keep their audience situationally aware and informed.”

You'll find the PDF of this (and some other interesting programs) on this page http://www.dhs.gov/files/publications/gc_1284657535855.shtm

Note that it SAYS only haiti and winter olympics.. Yeah, right, sure. Hey! I have some lovely oceanfront property in Iowa to sell you!

I sure as hell hope this isn't the FIRST (goose) step down a less-than-primrose path...

  2. I was :O when I saw it - They have Michael Berry on 740 in the am, so I am not sure if GB is still on, but that story I got through Firewire - The Blaze. Get some interesting stuff in the daily emails there, between them & Human Events, although HE sends junk mail too. we're schlepping down that horse-apple covered path, no primroses found.
