a couple of things

"Be very careful, indeed, with your call for the redistribution of wealth, and fairness," he said. "It always ends up with a mountain of skulls."

The above quote is from Michael Savage. Redistribution has killed many, and liberalism has killed many more than that.

Thomas Sowell says that "liberalism is totalitarianism with a human face". How true.

According to 'Death by Liberalism', there is a vast spectrum of democide: it includes genocide, mass murder of dissidents, mass mortality due to slave labor; mass starvation due to seizure or withholding of food supplies; and deaths caused by ill-planned or ineptly executed government policy. It has accounted for up to 262,000,000 deaths over the past century. This is roughly 6 times more than those killed by all the wars in the same time slot.

The book "Death by Liberalism" is quite interesting. At the Amazon site, you can look inside the book.

I hope you all had a good Easter. We had an egg hunt at church Sunday, and the kids had a lot of fun. I ended up with 11 in children's church, it was nuts! Usually there are 4 or 5 children. There was barely enough room at the round table for all the kids to sit around. Then we came home after church, and I did a roast leg of lamb, with roasted asparagus.

Wow! I will NOT steam asparagus again, it is SO much better roasted!

Break off the woody part of the stem, lay in a single layer in a shallow baking pan, drizzle with olive oil, roll them back & forth to makes sure they are coated all over with oil (be sparing with the oil, you can always add more, not take away); sprinkle with salt (I have a sea salt grinder, put on the middle position), and pepper (again, another grinder, middle position) and put in a 450 oven for about 10 minutes. *drool* it is really really good! And the lamb turned out to a lovely pink inside, about 135, and hub said it reminded him of prime rib. Glad I didn't buy a small ham.

Those word by Michael Savage and Thomas Sowell are worth remembering!
    Because they're ALL TRUE!
If you look to the third world nations, THEY are the worst culprits of massd eath either by war OR by lack of resources (like FOOD).
In more "prosperous societies, it's a lot more "subtle"...
    But always reprehensible.

As to the asparagus...I hear that it's pretty decent GRILLED, too.
(as are a lot of veggies)
Then again, I don't take much to asparagus anyway (I just like the plant's fern-like blooms)...just thought I'd pass that cooking tip along.

    Have a great weekend.
    Stay safe down there.

  2. Much of the killing is done by the lack of DDT - malaria has killed quite a few, since it was stopped. South Africa said the heck with you, and continued DDT spraying, and they have low instances of it. The other areas of Africa, and other countries, well it's gone back up to where it was before.

Grilled .. haven't tried it that way (yet). We have an asparagus patch, but they usually get past where they're edible, but they sure are pretty!
