Obamacare

It will be health rationing, is what it will be. He lies - "If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away."

Think if the government offers a lower cost alternative your employer is still going to offer you health insurance?

Jim Lindgren writing for the Internet blog the Volokh Conspiracy:

"But if the Obama plan is enacted, a substantial portion of employers will cut their health subsidies - raising their employees' share of contributions to the company plan - in order to drive some of the employees into the government exchange and the public option. Other employers may drop their plans altogether - after all, workers could buy their own coverage in the government exchange - or simply fund part of their workers' participation in the exchange. These changes, which would be the direct results of the implementation of the Obama plan, would make it virtually impossible for Obama to keep these promises...."

Right now, if you truly look at the number that are uninsured, taking away the illegals, those that would be covered under Schip or Medicare, those that are in between insurance coverage, and those that don't wish to buy health insurance (usually the 18 to 30 crowd), you have roughly 10 million uninsured. So we're doing this to make EVERYONE pay more taxes to just cover 10 million, and this plan is going to force roughly 22 million people off their current health care plan (estimate). And best estimates on that "47 million uninsured" best estimates is that only 16 million would become insured. Wow. Great plan, government work at its finest!

Also, regarding rationing of health care (don't think its not coming - its coming for YOU if you are older, or are in poor health!), he has said -
"The chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill...." So what does he do about this quandary? He says "There is going to have to be a conversation that is guided by doctors, scientists, ethicists. And then there is going to have to be a very difficult democratic conversation that takes place. It is very difficult to imagine the country making those decisions just through the normal political channels."

Meaning what? ethicists.. like Peter Singer?

One advisor that Obummer has that he's listening to is related to Rahm Emanuel - Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, his brother. From an article in the Lancet in 2008, this "Dr." wrote Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination.' We all were young once, the argument goes, and so denying the elderly and weak in order to care for the young and fit is just."

Just great. Sounds like the same thing we fought against during World War II, Adolf Hitler and his Reich. Only this time, its in our country, and coming from the White House. And being heralded as something "new and great" for this country. Never mind the fact that other countries that have socialized medicine are switching back to privatized medicine, because IT DOESNT WORK OUT. The quality of care is shoddy, and the waiting times are abysmal, and the death rates are high. Cancer death rates in Canada are roughly 50%. Do we want that here? We would be taking a big step backwards if we did. I keep hearing on the radio advertisements for new therapies from MD Anderson Cancer Center. Leading research. I imagine all that will go away once Obamacare starts. New drugs? Fat chance. We'll all be back on aspirin and not much else, because its cheap.

More idiocy from above

A smoke-free military? yeah, when pigs fly. I quit smoking years ago, but I smoked when I was in the Navy, and many other people smoked. Jugears smokes, and he's going to say no smoking on military property? What a bunch of hoo-haw.

On ANOTHER note.. what the press isnt reporting, but Sammy over at Yidwithlid found a source, is that the democrats and government interference caused this housing bubble. No way! tell me it ain't so! really? and Barney Frank is STILL denying any culpability in it whatsoever I'll bet! By the way, his blog is really a good read, he comes up with articles from I have no idea where he finds them, but I really enjoy reading his blog to keep up on what's going on in the government.

Senator Kennedy's "health bill" that is really a tax pops up again and again, and they've added something else, talked about here. Sounds like MORE and MORE taxes to me, and bigger and bigger government, which we don't need.

The Democrats can't seem to stop spending, and getting their hands into every little nook and cranny of people's lives. The Republicans aren't much better, but with this Democrat majority, and the few Republicans who vote for more and more taxes and interference in our lives, makes it unstoppable.

Salmonella in some dry non-fat milk products, showing up in more than a couple products, check it out at the link.

The kitten is doing well, although my daughter is finding out getting up every 2 hours to feed her is very tiring! I woke up at 4 am this morning, and she got up to feed the kitten at 5, found me awake, gave me the box and went back to bed.

New addition to our household

She's a little howler when she's hungry! Has to have drops in her eyes 4 times a day due to infection also. Name is Princess Anna-Marie Buttercup. Bigger name than the kitten. The vet said puppies are easier to take care of than kittens. Hopefully we can keep this one alive. Our dog Rocket is taking over mama duties of licking and grooming the kitten.

Chase on TV

Just finished watching the car chase on channel 2.. a white van.. just ended in a parking garage. a white dodge caravan is driving in a parking garage, in north Houston. He had been driving around in circles around north Houston for the past He's been all over Houston, Fort Bend county, all around the town. But he's trapped in a parking garage now. The helicopter is hovering over the parking garage. He evaded several spike strips. He drove a high speed chase (moron) and a slow speed chase, turning around in U turns. Now someone is running across the top of the parking garage. Jumping over the side, Just jumped to 3rd level, police are looking over the level. Officers have hin on the ground and cuffed, facedown. Good. Chase started in north Houston, went to south Houston, and then back again. What a moron. One fine upstanding citizen I bet. Just out for a nice Monday drive.

Urgent, and a lie put to rest

Call your state senator! Find your state senator HERE. Email them - call them - tell them you DO NOT WANT cap and trade passed.

The U.S. Senate is lurching onward with Cap-and-Trade legislation - a massive energy tax that will dramatically raise the cost of just about everything you produce or consume, (according to some figures by as much as 3,000 per year for the average household) all to reduce "global warming", which is NOT PROVEN. As a matter of fact, the earth has been COOLING since 2001. That's why they call it "climate change" now.

Peter Ferrara, director of budget and entitlement policy at the Institute for Policy Innovation, writing for The American Spectator, explains Cap-and-Trade this way:

"Every business involving CO2 emissions will have to buy permits from the government for the amount of such emissions, which will be sold in open auctions, where the permit price will be bid up. But the government will limit the number of these permits, and consequently the maximum amount of CO2 emissions allowed. Indeed, over time the government will clamp down [hard] on the amount of CO2 emissions allowed by the permits. . . ."

To put it simply, Cap-and-Trade launches a huge new tax on the making or consuming of just about everything.

Here is an article from the Wall Street Journal about the collapse of the myth of global warming. It puts to rest that lie.

Busy this week

I'm busy this past week, painting the purple room. Sorry about the quality of the picture, florescent lighting does a really bad things to a cell phone evidently. The new paint is a darker shade of a robin egg blue, and the white is just the primer. That green bookcase is HEAVY being it is full of old schoolbooks, and when I say old, I found a '58 yearbook from the school that the church had, when there were 200 students there, and some old textbooks. AND I found this old book in there, printed in 1909. Interesting. Gave that one to the preacher for his library. Wasn't in great quality, but not totally falling apart. Was on Luke's gospel.

This week, I will be painting the other Sunday school room/Sparks (AWANA club) room - one wall portion will be completely white, where we will put the Sparks characters painted on there (from enlarging from clipart) and the other walls which are paneled, have 4 narrow panels between 2 wide ones, those are going to be white, and the narrow ones will be red, blue, yellow and green. Bright room!

Throw into that getting my room ready for Vacation Bible School FUN! last year I had 3 incidents of biting. My youngest daughter got bit 3 times, by 2 different little boys. She is loathe to help again this year, she says "I have to work.. yeah.. that's it.. I have to work!" I will be teaching the little ones again, the 5 and 6 year olds. At least this year I managed to get another adult to help me so I'm not stuck with 18 5 and 6 year olds and 2 teenagers to assist me.. that is just total madness! I've done VBS on the Navajo reservation, and had each year ONE child misbehave, go talk to the missionary, return and apologize, and no problem the rest of the time. And all of them come the full 5 days. Here however, we never know who's going to show up how many days, and they are all misbehaving. Its very rare to have someone behave. On the rez, I've had 2 and 3 year olds in my class, and they behave better than the 5 and 6 year olds here, who act like wild animals. And they call this civilization?

Goldman Sachs meddling

I'm in the middle of reading Rolling Stone's expose on Goldman Sachs. Heard about it on the Michael Savage show while I was coming home from town earlier today. Spent a few hours putting primer on purple walls at church. UGH! The purple still shows a bit through the primer, but if I put on 2 coats of paint, it should not come through.

Back to Goldman Sachs. These guys are just plain DIRTY. From what I've read, they were deep and dirty in the big Wall Street bust of 29, the Internet Bubble, the mortgage fiasco, and that's as far as I've gotten so far. I wish my memory was a bit better, because Michael had a few things to say about the company, basically that it is running the government now, and Obama is just the frontman for Goldman Sachs now.

This article goes into depth about their meddling, and wheeling dealings. It makes you feel like you should take a shower afterwards.
